Au revoir Morocco

We spent one last morning in Essaouria exploring the city (in all its drizzly fineness!) and then took our late afternoon bus back to Marrakech for our last night of our tour.

Once again, dinner on our last night was at stall 55 of the night market where we dined on pommes frites, aubergine, galettes (kind of like a thick potato cake) and sausages with bread and olives. Yum.

We said goodbye to our group and to Khalid, our fantastic tour leader.

The following day we set out to decide how best to get our purchases home...all 12kg of them! It turns out it was cheaper to buy a rather expensive amount of excess luggage than it was to post or DHL our purchases home and we have the advantage of hopefully getting them home in one piece!

Our last two nights in Marrakech were spent in the amazing Dar Silsila, our room was larger than any we had stayed in since Dubai and breakfast was delicious, although still fairly sweet to our taste (yoghurt, roti style pancakes, bread and preserves).

With one final dinner at stall 55 we headed off to the airport and on to the next stage of our journey in Paris.

Morocco has been fun and frantic, but I think we were both looking foward to Paris.
